Forest City in September
The sea breeze starts to cool off in September and the days feel less harsh. Here are four things to do, in order — just enough for one weekend.
Evening at Fisherman Wharf: the Lumi Trail

The Lumi Trail is at Fisherman Wharf. Go after dark.
It's a free walk-in display — no sign-up needed, just turn up. It runs until the end of December, so there's no rush in September. Check the event page for opening hours.
Lumi TrailGo beachcombing at low tide

When the tide goes out, the mudflats appear. Fiddler crabs, mudskippers and hermit crabs are common, and with a bit of luck you might spot a sea star among the rocks.
The best window is about an hour either side of low tide. Low tide shifts every day — the Tides page shows today's high and low times. Wear non-slip shoes, bring a small bucket, and put the creatures back where you found them.
Midday break at GC Good Coffee

GC Good Coffee is a kopitiam right at the Transportation Hub, serving Nanyang-style food and white coffee.
The FC1 bus to Tuas Checkpoint and the FC2 to Aeon Bukit Indah both leave from the Hub, so it's an easy stop before or after your ride.

Heading home right after the Lumi Trail makes for a long night. Staying over is easier.
The Marina Hotel sits on the Forest City waterfront, with rooms looking out over the Strait of Johor and an outdoor pool downstairs. Take the next morning slowly with a swim, then go.
